At Central West Building Performance, we are passionate about building better buildings.
We assist our clients in maximising energy and water efficiency, reducing waste and optimising the performance of their homes.
The construction, operation, and maintenance of buildings accounts for almost a quarter of greenhouse gas emissions in Australia. As advocates for sustainable building, we believe everyone can do their bit to help Australia reduce its greenhouse gas emissions whilst simultaneously reducing their own energy bills and enjoying a happy, healthy home.
BASIX, the Building Sustainability Index, is a NSW Government planning initiative to ensure residential developments use less energy and water. A BASIX certificate is required for all new homes, multi unit buildings and most alterations and additions.
The Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme is a star rating system that rates the energy efficiency of the design of a house or renovation. The performance requirements are set out in the Building Code of Australia and help ensure a minimum standard for better energy efficient homes.
Our Accredited Assessors, HERA (House Energy Raters Association), are professionally recognised energy assessors who are qualified in conducting house energy ratings using NatHERS Accredited Software. They follow an Assessor Code of Practice and are provided ongoing support and guidance to ensure they provide high standards of quality and service delivery.
We offer energy efficient modelling which estimates your buildings energy consumption. We’ll then provide you information about climate, orientation, design geometry, building materials, and mechanical and electrical systems to plan the most efficient way of completing your project.
We assist in the drafting process
whether you are considering building a new house or an extension to your current home. Our drafting service aligns with our consulting for better energy efficiency in buildings.
A blower door test is a method of testing the airtightness of a structure. It involves measuring the amount of pressure inside and outside a building, before and after introducing an external source of forced-air ventilation.
The purpose of this test is to determine whether there are significant leaks in your home’s envelope, meaning the walls, ceiling, floor, windows and doors.
